Open Letter to Gloria Estefan

This is great, had to share…

Editor’s note: The following open letter was first submitted to the Miami Herald, but the paper opted not to publish it.

Miami is my hometown. When I was born at Hialeah Hospital in 1959, you were 2 years old and moving here from Cuba, to escape Communism.

America and its freedom, free enterprise and capitalism gave you the opportunity to become a superstar, to be financially and vocationally successful.

America is now under siege by a Marxist, progressive, leftist, radical, socialist, communist dictator drunk with power. His name is Obama.

You invited him to your home on April 15, 2010, for a Democratic fundraiser.

1. His parents were communists. His grandparents were communists. His childhood mentor Frank Davis was a communist.

2. He had “Marxist professors.” He taught a class on Saul Alinsky whose book “Rules for Radicals” is dedicated to Lucifer.

3. His college records are sealed.

4. He claims to be a Christian yet ridicules Scripture, denies Jesus is the only way to salvation, supports partial-birth abortion and attended a church for 20 years pastored by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who did not teach Christianity but “Black Liberation Theology,” which is Marxism disguised as religion.

5. He is friends with radicals and communists like William Ayers and has appointed many of them to positions of power – Sunstein, Jarrett, Van Jones, etc.

6. He told Joe the Plumber on the campaign trail that his philosophy was to “spread the wealth.” This is a direct quote from “The Communist Manifesto” written by Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels.

7. When he entered office he immediately took over the banks, the auto industry, health care (by bribery) and is intent on ending freedom of speech on the Internet, radio and TV by fees and fines. He is intent on using the myth of human-caused global warming to usurp control over our energy by Cap ‘n Tax, which would limit the number of minutes we take a shower and the kind of light bulbs we use.

8. His arrogant, excessive spending, with his stimulus laws and over-taxation, is destroying our economy, the middle class and our children’s future quality of life.

You had the audacity to invite this communist over to your home to raise money for the Democratic Party, which is controlling Congress and giving him unlimited power to achieve his goal of making our once-free country a welfare state, just like the Cuba you left.

You are either uninformed, ignorant or crazy.

Estudio Espanol dos anos en mi escuela secundario, y I think you are loco en la cabeza.

I ask my Cuban friends and neighbors what happened to you. Don’t you remember where you came from? Your father in a Cuban communist jail? They shake their heads sadly.

You spit on the free country that gave you the American Dream.

I urge you to educate yourself on what is happening in America today. Nov. 2 is the most serious vote of our nation’s history. We will vote in either liberty or tyranny.

How can you vote in tyranny when your family and friends risked their lives on rafts to escape it?

I don’t understand you.

Sincerely,

Victoria Jackson (“Saturday Night Live” cast member 1986-1992 because of capitalism/freedom)

Want to know what government healthcare is like?

As obama and the liberals/socialists/communists push through their illegal and unconstitutional government takeover of our nation's healthcare system, some of us wonder what it will be like if they succeed. The article below is just one of the thousands shining examples of how good it will be if obama succeeds:

Hospital left patients 'sobbing'

By Nick Triggle
Health reporter, BBC News

Hospital patients were left "sobbing and humiliated" by uncaring staff, an investigation into one of the worst NHS scandals in history has found.

The independent inquiry claimed the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust had become driven by targets and cost-cutting.

The report - the latest in a long line of critical reviews - said the distress and suffering had been "unimaginable".

Last year it was reported there were at least 400 more deaths than expected at the trust from 2005 to 2008.

But the relatives of patients treated there said many questions still remained unanswered.

In particular, they want a public inquiry into how the scandal could have happened, including the role of the wider NHS in the case.

ANALYSIS
BBC health reporter Nick Triggle
It may be uncomfortable for ministers, but there are still major questions that need to be answered about the Stafford Hospital scandal.

The poor treatment patients received is now well documented. But what remains unclear is why it was not picked up earlier.

The hospital would have been monitored by a primary care trust, strategic health authority and host of patient safety agencies, but none picked up the problems. In fact, the SHA even dismissed concerns about high death rates at one point.

At the same time, the trust which runs the hospital was able to climb the NHS ratings system and was approved for foundation trust status during the period.

In the end, it took a private research group, Dr Foster, to flag up concerns which helped prompt the regulator to look into the issue and publish its findings last year.

The trust had been climbing the NHS ratings ladder during the period in question and was even given elite foundation trust status.

The Tories have said they would back a public inquiry, but ministers have so far resisted.

Instead, they set up this inquiry, led by Robert Francis QC, which has been held in private and mainly focused on what happened inside the trust and in particular Stafford Hospital, one of two run by the organisation.

Following publication of the inquiry report, the government said Mr Francis would now be allowed to look into the regulation and monitoring issues.

Stafford Hospital hit the headlines last year when a report was published by the Healthcare Commission claiming patients had been "dying needlessly" and put the number of excess deaths at more than 400.

It reported a catalogue of shocking examples, including cases where unqualified receptionists assessed people as they arrived at A&E.

The findings were then followed by two government reviews.

'Routinely neglected'

This latest report also outlines instances where patients were "routinely neglected".

It documents cases where patients were left in soiled sheets which relatives were forced to wash.

And it highlights examples where patients were left alone, leading to falls - some fatal, which were not reported.

And one woman, who gave evidence, told the inquiry: "My Mum was in absolute agony, I can hear her screams now, as I walked into the ward."

Half of the patients and relatives who gave evidence also cited problems getting enough food and drink.

The report criticised the "ineffective" management which was too often concerned with hitting targets, particularly in A&E, as well as the "lack of compassion" and "uncaring attitude" of staff.

But staffing levels were also said to be too low because the trust was trying to slash costs by £10m.

STAFFORD HOSPITAL TIMELINE
  • November 2007 - Campaign group, Cure the NHS, set up amid concerns about care
  • March 2009 - Healthcare Commission report published, revealing "appalling" standards of care and at least 400 excess deaths
  • April 2009 - Two Department of Health reviews published, showing standards improving
  • May 2009 - The hospital says a report into the role of the chief executive, Martin Yeates, in the scandal will not be published
  • July 2009 - Ministers announce an independent inquiry into case, but stop short of a full public inquiry as demanded by campaigners
  • July 2009 - Inspectors say hospital care is safe, but they still have concerns about staffing. Warning repeated in subsequent checks
  • October 2009 - The trust is given the worst grade, weak, in the annual NHS ratings system
  • February 2010 - Independent inquiry published, describing patients left "sobbing and humiliated"
  • Julie Bailey, whose mother died at the hospital and the founder of the victims' campaign group Cure the NHS, said the handling of the scandal had been "disgraceful and unacceptable" - and reiterated her call for a public inquiry.

"It is time that the public were told the truth about the very large number of excess deaths of patients in NHS care and the very large number of avoidable but deadly errors that occur in NHS hospitals every day."

Since the original Healthcare Commission report, inspectors have been carrying out regular checks and have said care is now safe, although some problems persist over staffing and equipment.

The chief executive and chairman in charge during the period in question have been replaced and the General Medical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council are investigating some of the staff involved.

Sir Stephen Moss, the new chairman of the trust, said: "I would like to apologise unreservedly for the harm and distress that people suffered during that time and thank those who spoke to the Inquiry.

"Their courage in coming forward has helped us learn from the errors of the past and to make changes that have already improved our services".

Health Secretary Andy Burnham said there could be "no excuses" for the failings.

But he added: "This was ultimately a local failure, but it is vital that we learn the lessons nationally to ensure that it won't happen again - we expect everyone in the NHS to read the report and act on it."

But Patients Association president Claire Rayner said: "The scale of problems at Stafford might have been unique but failures in essential nursing care are not."

Obama creates a budget deficit task force?

That is like Charles Manson leading the call for a crackdown on violent crime.

Obama and the current liberal-controlled congress have become the epitome of reckless spending, all the while blaming George Bush. Obama has quadrupled the deficit in less than a year. No other president in history has ever come close to that. Even Bush’s worst year of spending, his last year, pales in comparison with the monstrous numbers seen now. There is a reason I see so many bumper stickers that read: “Don’t tell Obama what comes after a trillion.”

With the recent loss of a once secure democrat senate seat to the republicans, combined with other telling elections that reflect the people’s disgust at his socialist policies, obama finally recognizes he is no longer fooling the gullible masses just with his teleprompted words. He wants to paint himself as fiscally responsible, so he is creating this task force, even as he continues pushing legislation and policies that will increase the deficit exponentially.

I certainly hope enough people are wise to this crap in time to stop it.

    The Ant and the Grasshopper

This one is a little different.... Two Different
    Versions................... Two Different Morals

    OLD VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
    the summer away..

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

    MODERN VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
    the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and
demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
while he is cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a
    table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper
    is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries
when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news
stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Then Rev. Jeremiah
Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's
    sake.

President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President
Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the
ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an
immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act
retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs
and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is
confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends
finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he
is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house,
crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house,
now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the
ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood..

The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

I've sent this to you because I believe that you are an ant - not a
grasshopper ! Make sure that you pass this on to other ants. Don't
bother sending it on to any grasshoppers because they wouldn't understand
    it, anyway.
